Heart for the House 2015

Having a heart for the house is so much more than the amount you bring as your contribution to our annual miracle offering. Every week, I am blown away by the passion, dedication and commitment of the people that call Proclaimers home. Every month I am encouraged as I write our monthly email to volunteers and see the number that it goes to grow and grow. And each here as we take time to review I am grateful for all that God continues to do through us to reach people, influence culture and to build future as we give generously and serve faithfully week in and week out.

As we gather on the 18th October for Vision Sunday, the offering we receive is another expression of our heart for his house and this year we have some exciting projects we are working on:

NORWICH

Welcoming People Home – The Atrium

We’re investing in new flooring, new furniture and new fixtures and fittings to create a new feel for our atrium. We want to create a more welcoming and embracing first impression and provide a more versatile space for other church activities.

What we will spend the money on:

  • Café Furniture
  • Improved Coffee Bar
  • Adding more colour
  • Adding more signage
  • Soft furnishing – sofas and benches
  • New flooring
  • More intimate and variable lighting

WHY?

  • First impressions count, we want those visiting our house to feel welcomed and comfortable.

HOW MUCH?
We need at least £10,000 to get started on this.

Building Future: Investing in our children and young people

Our teams that work with our 0-18s do an incredible job to create an environment for fun, friendship and growing in faith and we want to upgrade our kids rooms with fresh new lighting and décor, new equipment and improved storage. The immediate impact will be on our Sunday services but we will also be impacting our new Saturday kids club launching in Pilling Park and our relaunched youth, now called Fearless.

What we will spend the money on

  • New Toys, games and books
  • Upgraded room décor and signage
  • Larger Play Equipment eg soft play sets
  • Lighting and lighting infrastructure in the Blue Space
  • Soft Furniture eg bean bags
  • Storage Equipment
  • Bouncy Castle – for big Sundays, picnics
  • If the budget stretches we would look at AV equipment such as projectors, sound systems and TVs.
  • Finally transport – we are finding more families, young people and students who need help getting to church, this is costly and an area in need of investment.

WHY?

  • Children and young people are not just the future, they are the present. We want children and parents to have the best experience of growing up in God’s house.
  • We have an incredible opportunity to reach out to local families.

HOW MUCH?
We want to spend at least £5,000 on this area.

Reaching People – investing in reaching and keeping new people

We want to invest in some tried and tested methods of letting people know that we are here and explore some new options too. We’ve been Norwich’s best kept secret for too long, it’s time to go public. The most likely way people will come to church will always be personal invitation but we want to invest in ways to increase awareness of who we are. We want to expand our Facebook and Google advertising campaigns and explore adding a local physical presence with billboards, other physical advertising and improved signage.

What we will spend the money on:

  • Digital Marketing Campaigns
  • Physical marketing campaigns
  • Improved signage for Proclaimers and The Space
  • A special area to promote Proclaimers to the 500+ people that visit the venue every week
  • New Welcome Area, packs and gifts for first time guests

WHY?

  • Remember the census?! We’re doing our bit to turn around the statistic that says that we are the UK’s most Godless city.
  • Most people in this city still don’t realise that church can be up to date, relevant and fun, as a result they are not hearing the good news about Jesus, we need to spread the message!

HOW MUCH?
It depends but we want to spend at least £5,000 on this area.

IPSWICH

Reaching People – Sunday Services

What a year! We are growing and meeting new people but it’s time to notch things up again. We need to continue to invest in our Sunday Service Experience, improving our presentation and our environment.

What we will spend the money on:

  • LED lighting to set the atmosphere
  • Better face and house lighting
  • New stage backdrop/screen area
  • Branding touches to make the room our own and improve the arriving at church experience

Reaching People – investing in reaching and keeping new people

We want to invest in some tried and tested methods of letting people know that we are here and explore some new options too. Too many people in Ipswich just don’t know that we’re here, it’s time to change that.

  • New Welcome Area, packs and gifts for first time guests

HOW MUCH?
Everything we receive in Ipswich will be spent in Ipswich as part of our ongoing commitment to help our Ipswich campus become fully self supporting – we’re hoping to receive £4000 in Ipswich this year.
